Import Issues
Import Dialog Doesn't Appear
Possible Causes:
- SD card not detected
- SD Studio not running in background
- Volume permissions issue
Solutions:
- Eject and reinsert SD card
- Check SD Studio is running (check menu bar)
- Check macOS permissions (System Settings → Privacy & Security)
- Restart SD Studio
Import Fails with "Insufficient Storage"
Solutions:
- Free up space on vault destination
- Free up space on backup destinations
- Check available space manually
- Remove old projects or archives
Network Backup Fails
Possible Causes:
- Network share disconnected
- Insufficient permissions
- Network timeout
Solutions:
- Remount network share
- Check network connection
- Verify write permissions
- SD Studio will retry automatically (3 attempts)
- Check destination path is correct
Checksum Verification Fails
Possible Causes:
- File corruption during copy
- Storage device issue
- Interrupted copy
Solutions:
- Try importing again
- Check source SD card for errors
- Use Disk Utility to verify SD card health
- Try different backup destination
Authentication Issues
Magic Link Email Doesn't Arrive
Solutions:
- Check spam/junk folder
- Verify email address is correct
- Wait a few minutes (email delivery can be delayed)
- Try requesting a new link
- Contact support if issue persists
"Subscription Expired" Error
Solutions:
- Check subscription status in Settings → Account
- Renew subscription if needed
- Sign out and sign back in
- Contact support if subscription is active but showing as expired
Project Issues
Projects Not Appearing
Possible Causes:
- Projects folder not configured correctly
- Permission issues
- Projects folder moved
Solutions:
- Check workspace root in Settings → General
- Verify projects folder exists
- Check folder permissions
- Rescan projects folder
Can't Delete Project
Solutions:
- Ensure project folder is not open in Finder
- Close any applications using project files
- Check folder permissions
- Try restarting SD Studio
Archive Issues
Archive Fails
Possible Causes:
- Archive destination not mounted
- Insufficient space
- Permission issues
Solutions:
- Verify archive destination is mounted
- Check available space on destination
- Verify write permissions
- Check archive destination path
Dry Run Shows "No Projects Eligible"
Solutions:
- Check archive age rule in Settings → Archive
- Verify project dates are older than rule
- Adjust archive rule if needed
General Issues
SD Studio Won't Launch
Solutions:
- Check macOS version (13.0+ required)
- Try restarting your Mac
- Reinstall SD Studio
- Check Console.app for error messages
- Contact support with error details
Settings Not Saving
Solutions:
- Check folder permissions
- Verify write access to settings location
- Restart SD Studio
- Try resetting settings (Settings → General → Reset)
